GO:Judging a Book By Its Plain Brown Wrapper by quantum-witch GO:Judging a Book By Its Plain Brown Wrapper by quantum-witch
Good Omens Exchange is running a little long this year, but my gift was given before Xmas and everyone ALWAYS knows it's me... so...

FANDOM: Good Omens
WHO: Aziraphale, Crowley © Gaiman, Pratchett
NOTES: For robinasynder on LJ. The prompt was: Aziraphale VS Crowley, both going after the same soul, can be pre or post arrangement. I rather like the idea of it being pretty even or Aziraphale having the upper hand. What happens to the soul (Good/Evil/Third Option) is up to you.

Why create a whole new character when canon is so rich with questionable souls ;)

Additional notes:

- Mary Magdalene was indeed sainted. She was also not a prostitute, but it's the common idea so I played with it.
- "Cervelle de veau" = calves' brains, a French delicacy... eww.
- Ludwig Beethoven, deaf by the time he wrote those bits of his music.
- If anyone EVER finds out what Tracy's Thursdays are about... I don't want to know.

Believe it or not, bingo.
Or, at least thats what she tells Mr Shadwell...
I hired a professional private detective named Gently, he said he would tell me in a week.
That was a week ago.
He said she actually plays checkers with a man who looks suspiciously like Freddy Mercury. Dirk said he sings like you would expect an angel to sing. He also said a pale man in a black coat said "YES". The dick had no idea what that man meant, you don't suppose that the guy she's meeting is really Fred Mercury do you?

How come I hadn't seen this before???? ťAŤ I love it, I think I died at "Even though she can hear the dead like old Ludwig heard his own late quartets?" The whole comic is brilliant, Aziraphale's final argument is indeed indisputable xD (I realized they were talking about Madame Tracy only when charlatanism was mentioned :dummy: My excuse is that I haven't had any coffee today)
I love how you depict them, they look and sound precisely like themselves  And Aziraphale's computer in the first panel made me grin like an idiot <3

*favs with ninja-like speed*

Guh, some people eat calf brain here too, my grandfather loved it. This is one of the reasons I don't eat calf and tend to avoid meat as much as I can XDDDD *scarred for life*

Hee :D I had loads of fun thinking of crap for them to argue about. Because they could argue about *everything* down to the wallpaper and crop rotation in Belgium, for all I know. So I have to be prepared with adequate, if ridiculous, comparisons for whatever comes my way.

I love Madame Tracy, she doesn't get nearly enough attention. She was -- if you use the SPN verse ideals -- Aziraphale's vessel for a time so she's got to be important. :)

:XD: That computer is modeled on my first one. It used a disc to boot up, everything was in four color DOS, and to save a file you could only use eight letters. Had to use it until 1997, so I sympathize completely with Aziraphale. Writing things down would've been easier =P

Ewww, I will never try it. Here, esp. down South, they love pig brain. Scramble it right into eggs for breakfast. I tried it once without knowing and nearly threw up. Never again. :XD:

Madame Tracy is a very colorful character ;) Under-used in fandom, too.

Very nice, and a wonderful little conversation between the two. Yet another reminder that I need to re-read this wonderful book. Have a good year!

Heh, well, I definitely want to re-read, and have for quite a while. Your art has just helped to move it up the list of what I'd like to re-read. (To say nothing of reminding what I loved about it in the first place.)
