fandom: harry potter (c) jkr
characters(s): severus snape
notes: since we know from jkr's interviews that harry commissioned the headmaster portrait snape so very much deserved, i have been obssessed with creating it... this picture will eventually be included in a wonderous fic (not by me), and when it is finished and published, i can include all the illustrations here (can't yet, because it would give away plot)... also i've added a textured filter to make it more like a canvas painting, and the background is only a very PS'd copy of his office in the movies, and the frame is just a photo of a frame (though it is an antique)... i couldn't bring myself to paint anything more than him, and that took plenty long enough - over 24 hours

this is MY Snape, not the movie version.. rickman may be good, but he doesn't have the look i saw in my head since book one

scraps version here: [link]

NO CRITIQUES PLEASE

this is the first picture i've ever been so utterly happy with that i printed it out and framed it

Critique this? IT'S AMAZING! I think you are the first to actually capture the version of Snape as I always pictured him reading the novels. He looks as I thought he should and while the actor does an interesting job being him, he's just not the same.

Oh WOW, he's awesome! heheheee, too bad he can't move around talk... I wonder what conversations he and McGonagle would get into in the headmaster/mistress' office :D *... assuming McGonagle is the headmistress after book 7... hrm...*
Btw, I'm a HUGE fan of 'Hope Springs Eternal' on ff.net, and I just want to send a huge kudos to you for your talent - to be such an awesome writer AND artist is truly a gift. And as someone's who's um... shall I say 'crafty' too? I loved the new take on Persephone myth. I never thought it made sense that Hades would just defile her like that and have a hypothesis it got changed with the whole patriarchal take-over of Greece; personally I woudn't be surprised if your version *minus the Disney touches of course, lol* is more accurate to the ancient sources of real love between Death and Rebirth.
*sheepish smile* sorry, probably shoulda just sent this to you as a note :P anyway, GREAT WORK!!!
